Blocking Time for Breaks and Time Off

Block time on your calendar when you're unavailable for appointments. This prevents clients from booking during breaks, meetings, personal time, or days off.

Types of Blocked Time

You can block time in two ways:

  • Personal event — Personal activities (errands, appointments, vacation)

  • Work event — Work-related blocks (lunch breaks, team meetings, admin time)

Both types prevent client bookings. The difference is just for your own organization.

Block Time Using the + Button

1. Click the blue + button in the bottom-right corner

2. Select "Personal event" or "Work event"

3. Enter the details:

  • Title (for example, "Lunch break" or "Doctor appointment")

  • Date and time

  • Duration

4. Save

The blocked time appears as a colored block on your calendar, preventing bookings during that period.

Block Time by Dragging

You can also drag directly on the calendar to create blocked time:

  1. Click and drag on an open spot in your calendar

  2. Select "Personal event" or "Work event" from the popup

  3. Add a title if needed and save

Block an Entire Day

To take a full day off:

  1. Click the date header for that day

  2. Select "Free day"

The day switches to a moon icon and removes all availability. Clients can't book you that day.

You can't mark a day as free if appointments are already booked. Cancel or move those appointments first.

Move or Delete Blocked Time

To reschedule blocked time:

  1. Click and drag the event block to a new time or day

  2. Release to save the change

To delete blocked time:

  1. Click the event block

  2. Select delete or remove

  3. Confirm

Common Uses

  • Lunch breaks — Block 30-60 minutes daily for meals

  • Vacation — Mark entire days or weeks as free days

  • Admin time — Block time for bookkeeping, inventory, cleaning

  • Personal appointments — Block time for your own errands or appointments

  • Team meetings — Block time when you need to meet with staff

For recurring breaks (like daily lunch), create one event and then duplicate it across days. Drag while holding the appropriate key to copy instead of move.
