Insights and Statistics
The Insights page in your salon admin dashboard shows key metrics about your bookings, revenue, customers, and waitlist activity. It helps you track performance and spot trends at a glance.
Where to Find Insights
Open your salon admin dashboard and go to the Insights page. The URL is /s/:salon/admin/insights.
Choose a date range
Insights always shows one selected period, and it opens with the last 30 days by default. Click Date range at the top of the page to change it.
Click Date range to open the date range dialog.
Pick one of the quick ranges, or enter your own dates under From and To and click Apply range.
The quick ranges are This week, 7 days, 30 days, This month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. This week runs from Monday through today, and 7 days, 30 days, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year each include today plus the preceding days. This month starts on the first day of the current month. Ranges use your salon's local dates, and a booking counts toward the period when it starts on a date inside it.
If you enter a custom range with the dates in the wrong order, they are swapped automatically so the earlier date becomes the start. Dates that cannot be read are ignored and the dialog stays open.
Salon or Me view
The scope selector at the top switches between Salon, the whole salon, and Me, your own bookings as a worker. Owners and admins can switch between both views by default. Workers see only the Me view by default, and they can switch between both when they are granted the Insights permission.
In the Me view, every metric counts only the bookings you take part in. A multi-worker appointment counts toward each worker involved, and revenue counts your share of the booking, including your share of product sales. The Product sales section is not shown in the Me view.
Comparing with the previous period
Every metric card also shows the change from the previous period of the same length. If you select 7 days, the comparison covers the seven days before it. The change is a relative percentage, so utilization moving from 40% to 50% shows +25.0%, not +10 percentage points. When the previous period has no value to compare against, the card shows a dash.
Performance Metrics
The top section summarizes your salon's core numbers:
Total revenue: the income from confirmed bookings in the selected period. Pending, canceled, and no-show bookings do not count toward revenue.
Avg. booking value: confirmed revenue divided by the number of confirmed bookings.
Bookings: the number of confirmed bookings. Pending, canceled, and no-show bookings are not counted. In the Salon view a multi-worker appointment counts once; in the Me view it counts for each worker involved.
New customers: clients whose first confirmed booking falls in the selected period. Bookings imported from another system do not count, so a client whose history was imported still counts as new on their first booking made in Taimli. In the Me view, only bookings involving you count.
Returning clients: a percentage, not a count. It is the share of clients with a confirmed booking in the period who already had a confirmed booking before the period.
Utilization: confirmed booked minutes divided by available minutes, capped at 100%. Utilization needs working hours to be set up for your staff; until then the card shows a note to set up working hours. With data, the subtitle shows how many hours were booked and how many were available. Canceled bookings and canceled appointment parts do not count as booked time.
Cancellation rate: customer and salon cancellations divided by all confirmed bookings plus those cancellations. No-shows are not included, and a cancellation counts only when the record shows who canceled it (the customer or the salon).
If utilization looks wrong, start by checking that working hours are filled in. See Setting Up Your Availability.
Waitlist Impact
The waitlist section shows how the customer waitlist is contributing to your bookings. See how many bookings came from waitlist emails and how many customers are still waiting. For details on how the waitlist works for customers, see Waitlist for Customers.
Bookings from waitlist: the number of completed bookings that originated from waitlist email notifications
Notification conversion: the rate at which waitlist email recipients turned into confirmed bookings
Open waitlist requests: how many customers are currently waiting for a slot to open up
Staff with waitlist access can select View waitlist to review the active requests. See Viewing waitlist requests for how to open and act on the list.
Service and Schedule Breakdown
The lower sections break down your business by services and timing:
Most popular services: the services booked most frequently
Avg. revenue by day of week: which days generate the most revenue on average
Top services by revenue/hour: which services earn the most money relative to the time they take
Busiest hours: the time slots with the highest booking volume
Product Sales and Margins
The Product sales section lists the products sold on bookings in the selected period, sorted by revenue. It shows Product, Units, Revenue, Cost, and Margin for each product, plus a row for One-off items and a Total row. Bookings that were canceled or marked as no-shows are excluded.
The section appears only in the Salon view, only for staff with Insights access, and only when products have been sold in the period. When nothing has sold, it shows "Products sold on bookings will show here."
Margin counts only the units sold with a known product cost. When some units have no cost, the page shows "Margin counts only units sold with a cost. Add costs on the products page." See Set up and sell products for how products are created, sold on bookings, and tracked in stock.
