Set up your services from scratch
This checklist takes you from an empty catalog to services customers can book online: create categories, add services and variants, assign team members, check the online booking settings, and open availability. Each step links to the detailed guide.
Services are pre-configured during onboarding. Review them before adding new ones so durations, prices, and staff assignments match your salon's needs.
1. Create your categories
Categories organize your services on the booking page, and you need at least one before you can create a service. Until a category exists, the Services page shows only New category.
Open Services from the sidebar.
Open the New category or service menu and select New category.
Enter a name in the Category name field and select Save.
Drag and drop categories and services to set their order: that order is what customers see on your booking page. For moving services between categories and deleting categories, see Organizing Services with Categories.
2. Add each service
Every service needs a name, a duration, and a price; customers see all three when booking.
Open Services from the sidebar.
Click the + button in the bottom right corner and select New service.
Fill in the service details: name, category, duration, and price.
Save the service.
Optional settings to decide as you go: a discounted price, a description, extra blocked time for cleanup, and displaying the price as "from". They are all covered in Adding and Editing Services.
3. Add variants for options with different prices or durations
A new service starts with one variant. Add more in the same New Service panel with Add variant, then give each variant its own name, price, and duration. See Create and manage service variants for the full field list and how customers pick a variant.
Show in online booking applies to the whole service, so you cannot show one variant and hide another.
4. Choose which team members perform each service
A service with no capable staff is removed from the public booking page entirely, so every bookable service needs at least one team member assigned.
The New Service panel has a Team Members section that initially enables every worker. Toggle off anyone who does not perform the service, then save. To review or change assignments later, use Service assignments on the Services page: select a team member under Team member and click each service row to toggle it on or off. Changes save immediately. With one team member, the selector shows them without a dropdown.
Both methods, and how capabilities affect booking availability, are in Managing Staff Capabilities.
5. Check the online booking settings
Two settings per service control what customers can book.
Show in online booking is on by default. Turn it off only for services customers should not book online, such as VIP treatments or seasonal specials (see Hiding Services from Online Booking).
Limit to specific weekdays is all days by default. Change it only for services not offered every working day; at least one weekday must stay selected (see Limiting Services to Specific Weekdays).
Working hours always come from your calendar, so service settings never define when you work.
6. Open your availability
Your calendar starts fully blocked, so customers can book nothing until you open time slots. Follow Setting up your availability for each day and worker.

Two catalog areas are separate from service setup:
Catalog translations let customers book in another language and cover category, service, and variant names and descriptions. See Translate your salon catalog into other languages.
Products are the retail items staff add to bookings, managed on their own Products page. See Set up and sell products.
